effective and convenient birth control, the cap can be left
in place for several days with little or no spermicide. Other
birth control methods available include diaphragms, natural
fertility detection, female and male condoms, and the pill,
Nuva Ring and Patch. We also provide counseling and referral

Donor
Insemination Program |
| Our
donor insemination program enables women to get pregnant using
frozen sperm from a bank. Single women and Lesbians as well
as women with infertile partners have found our program particularly
helpful. We use licensed sperm banks who rigorously test all
donors for HIV, STDs and genetic disorders. Vaginal self-examination
has proven to be invaluable in our program for fertility detection.
Women receive plastic speculums, cycle charts and insemination
tools. Insemination can be done at home or in our office. |

15
Minute HIV Test Results! |
| We
now offer the FDA approved Clearview Rapid HIV-1 and HIV 2
Antibody Test with 15 minute results using a single drop of
blood from a finger stick! Quick results reduce the stress
and inconvenience of waiting. Experts are finding that
HIV antibodies can usually be found 3 to 4 weeks after the
risk of exposure.
We
also offer the HIV DNA by PCR test which can detect the presence
of DNA from HIV in most people within 2-3 days after the risk
of exposure. Results are normally available in 3-7 days.
Standard HIV-antibody testing results, including a confirmatory
Western Blot if results are reactive, are normally available
in 1-2 days.
All
testing is strictly confidential! Results can be given
with the client's name for immigration, court, or international
travel. Also available are T-cell subsets, CBCs, HIV RNA viral
loads, and HIV Genotyping.
|
| |
STD/STI
Testing |
| Testing
and treatment for sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), also
known as sexually transmitted infections (STIs) is provided
in a strictly confidential and supportive environment.
We offer testing for gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis, herpes,
vaginal, rectal and throat Pap smears for Human Papilloma
Virus (HPV), hepatitis A, B & C, as well as other testing. |
| |
Nutrition
|
| Nutritional
consultations and food based nutritional supplements are also
available as part of our prevention oriented care. Stress
and irregular eating habits can create nutritional deficiencies
and chemical imbalances that can contribute to digestive problems,
suppressed immunity, low energy, PMS, menopause related symptoms,
prostatitis and many other conditions. Good nutrition is essential
to optimal wellness. Proper nutrition makes a huge difference
in helping the body get back on track. |

Acupuncture
and Herbs |
| Acupuncture
is a safe, comfortable and highly effective traditional Chinese
method of healing and promoting wellness. Based on over 2500
years of human research, acupuncturists insert hair fine,
sterile, disposable needles into specific points on the body
to stimulate and strengthen the QI (chi), or vital energy.
Acupuncture and Chinese herbs can be extremely helpful in
addressing a myriad of health concerns including digestive,
respiratory, musculoskeletal, neurological, and immune conditions,
pain, insomnia, stress, sexual and reproductive health and
more. |
| |
Qigong |
| Qigong
is an ancient Chinese method of cultivating and utilizing
Qi (chi) or vital life force to assist in optimal health,
healing and well being. Qigong practices range from seated
meditative styles such as in Healing Tao to gentle movement
such as Tai Ji and even martial arts. |

clients that our services are well worth the cost because
of the quality of care we provide as well as time spent.
We
have a sliding scale of fees for some of our services enabling
those with a financial need to pay a slightly lower fee. As
a nonprofit, of course, it helps us when you are able to pay
the top of our Fee Scale. Every little bit helps us to provide
much needed services!
