Laura Hershey, DC, is a Non force chiropractor, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) practitioner and health educator. Non force chiropractic generally gets people well and out of pain in just a few visits using no more pressure than you would voluntarily apply to your own eyeball. Non force chiropractic techniques adjust muscles, tendons, ligaments and discs, as well as bones. If there is a down-side, compared to other chiropractic techniques, it is that you spend more time on the adjusting table. Expect to spend 45 minutes with your first visit and up to half and hour with the follow-up chiropractic visits. No xrays are required to figure out exactly what needs to be adjusted. Dr. Hershey has been a clinical team member with Progressive Health Services since 2004.

Suzann Gage, APRN, WHNP, LAc, is co-founder and clinical director of Progressive Health Services. Suzann got her start by attending a self-help clinic back in 1971 in the Midwest. Women's health activists Carol Downer and Lorraine Rothman were traveling across country, via bus, with boxes of plastic speculums teaching women how to look at their own cervix with a mirror and light. This revolutionary idea of empowering women with direct self-knowledge about their bodies resonated strongly with Suzann. It inspired her to move to Los Angeles where she began working full time at the Feminist Women's Health Center. During her 11 years at the Feminist Women's Health Center's Women's Choice Clinics Suzann developed a wide range of self-help oriented women 's health skills as a lay health worker, ultimately becoming clinic administrator. She fit cervical caps, coordinated a multisite cervical cap study, participated in research on the menstrual cycle, advocated for women's reproductive rights and coauthored and illustrated several books on women's health including A New View of a Woman's Body. She also co-founded the Lesbian Well Woman Clinic, one of the first of it's kind, specializing in Lesbian health care with a foundation in self-help. In 1985 Suzann co-founded Wholistic Health for Women and the Lesbian Health Clinic, a nonprofit tax-exempt organization in West Hollywood. The goal: to empower women through vaginal and breast self-examination, self-help clinics, safe and effective birth control and conception options, and preventive choice oriented health care utilizing mainstream and alternative medicine. In 1986 under Suzann's direction Wholistic Health for Women expanded their services to begin addressing the health needs of men and the Gay, Bi and Transgender communities inspiring an organizational name change to Progressive Health Services. Suzann's pursuit of knowledge in the field of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) is ceaseless. She regularly attends mainstream and alternative medicine conferences and consults one on one with health experts in the field. Over the years she has presented countless workshops and spoken at numerous conferences on a wide range of health topics. She has also won several awards for her work including the Margaret Sanger award.
