How Hepatitus A, B and C Testing Is Done
Testing is done with a simple blood test. Testing for Hepatitis is most accurate if it has been 1 month or longer after sexual contact. However, hepatitis has been detected as early as 2 weeks after becoming infected, in some cases.
Hepatitis Treatment
Hepatitis A normally goes away on it's own. Hepatitis A usually becomes inactivated by an infected person's immune system within a few months. These people are normally no longer contagious and cannot become infected with Hepatitis A again in the future.
Some peoples immune system will also successfully fight off, and inactivate, a Hepatitis B or Hepatitis C infection. However, some people infected with Hepatitis B or C continue to be infected and contagious for years after contracting these viruses. Hepatitis B and C can be treated and controlled with the various treatments. Chronic Hepatitis B and C infection can increase the risk for liver disease but treatment can help! A variety of health regimes can help with recovery.
